Seal in residence on the Opera House steps:
A seal has spent many days the last two summers (2014-6) lounging on the steps in front of the Opera House or playing and fishing in the water nearby. Unfortunately the webcam resolution does not allow a good view of the seal to be shown on this website but the steps where he or she resides can just be seen leading down to the water at the nearest part of the forecourt to the camera. The seal sometimes stays for days, then disappears for a time before returning For the information of overseas viewers it is virtually unknown for a seal to visit, let alone stay, this far into Sydney Harbour. Read his story
Plenty of pictures of the seal on Google Images.                  July 2016:  Now there is a second seal!
